About this Wildcam

Webbkameror.se in collaboration with Storkprojektet
In Fulltofta stork enclosure outside Hörby, about 25 pairs of storks are nesting. The enclosure is one of two large enclosures within the project, intended for the breeding and rearing of kingfishers. All young storks are released into the wild on the last Saturday in July, every year.

Once the white stork was common in Scania. But when we dug out and cultivated the wetlands, the storks could no longer find food for their young. The last pair bred in 1954 on a farm near Karup’s Nygård. Through the Stork Project, Skåne hopes to get our Scanian symbol back! The goal is to restore a viable, migrating population of white storks in Scania.
