For the first time in Israel you are to watch a live vulture (Griffon Vultures and Egyptian Vulture) feeding station located in Hai-Bar Carmel led by Israel Nature and Parks Authority. The site is mean to provide clean food free of veterinarian medicines.
The site is location close to the rehabilitation and hacking station were vultures are released back to nature. The site was selected in order to provide the vultures population residing in Carmel Israel a food source and thereby reduce the risk of exposure to poisonings and dangerous contaminant. In addition to Griffon Vultures and Egyptian Vultures it is possible to observe other birds such as hooded crows, black crows, other raptors and egrets. Vultures from the Golan, the Judean Desert, the Negev, and even the Balkans visit the site throughout the year.
The camera was added and maintained by the Charter Group of Wildlife Ecology (The Shamir Research Institute and the Department of Geography and Environmental Science of the University of Haifa) and funded by a private donor.
